Your Badrinath yatra package begins with a morning departure from Delhi. Our driver will pick you up from your home/airport/railway station. Enjoy a comfortable drive towards Haridwar. Upon arrival in Haridwar by late afternoon, check in to the hotel. In the evening, head to Har Ki Pauri ghat for the Ganga Aarti – an ethereal ceremony where you’ll witness oil lamps (diyas) and chants along the holy Ganges. You may also visit nearby temples like Mansa Devi or Chandi Devi by cable car if time permits. Overnight stay at a Haridwar hotel.
After an early breakfast, start the long yet scenic drive to Badrinath. The route will take you through Rishikesh and the hill roads of Uttarakhand. En route, witness the Devprayag confluence (where Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers meet) and pass through towns like Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Karnaprayag, and Joshimath, each offering glimpses of river valleys and mountains. Arrive in Badrinath by evening. Check in to the hotel and overnight in Badrinath.
Wake up in the divine ambiance of Badrinath. Proceed directly for early morning darshan at Badrinath Temple. Before entering the temple, pilgrims customarily bathe in the Tapt Kund hot springs to purify themselves. Attend the aarti of Badri Vishal (Lord Vishnu) inside the brightly adorned temple. After breakfast, we will explore local attractions around Badrinath. Visit Mana Village, the last Indian village before Tibet, famous for its rustic charm and legend-rich spots. Here you’ll see the Vyas Gufa, a cave where Sage Vyasa is believed to have composed the Mahabharata, and Bhim Pul, a natural stone bridge over the Saraswati River, said to be placed by Bhim of the Pandavas. You can also see the origin of the Saraswati River (“Saraswati Udgam”) and shop for local herbs or woollens sold by villagers. By noon, depart Badrinath and drive down to Rudraprayag via Joshimath. En route, you might stop at Joshimath to visit the Narsingh Temple (winter abode of Lord Badrinath). Continue to Rudraprayag, a town situated at the holy confluence of Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. Check in at Rudraprayag hotel and rest. Rudraprayag offers a serene riverside atmosphere to relax after the long drive.
After breakfast, drive towards Rishikesh. On the way, you can halt at Devprayag if not covered earlier, or other prayags for quick sightseeing. Arrive in Rishikesh by afternoon. Rishikesh is known as the yoga capital and is home to many ashrams. Visit Laxman Jhula and Ram Jhula, the iconic suspension bridges over the Ganges, and watch the river rafters if in season. In the evening, gather at Triveni Ghat for the Ganga Aarti. The sound of bhajans and the sight of lamps floating on the river under the night sky is memorable.
Option: You can spend the night in Rishikesh to enjoy its vibe, or drive a bit further to Haridwar for the night halt as per your preference. (Our default plan is an overnight stay in Rishikesh for a shorter Day 4 drive.
Day 5 is the time to return after a satisfying pilgrimage. Have breakfast at the hotel and perhaps a brief stroll by the Ganges in the morning peace. Check out and depart by road for the journey back to Delhi. The drive is around 6–7 hours via Haridwar, with lunch breaks on the way. You will be dropped off in Delhi by evening with divine memories of your Badrinath Yatra. The tour concludes as you arrive at your doorstep or the designated drop point in Delhi, marking the end of a fulfilling 5-day journey.

A proper Badrinath trip from Delhi should follow this road itinerary: Delhi → Haridwar → Joshimath → Badrinath → Joshimath → Haridwar → Delhi. Since the total road distance is over 1,000 km round trip through mountains, a 4 Nights / 5 Days itinerary is ideal. This allows safe travel, overnight halts, temple darshan, and proper acclimatization.
The Badrinath trip cost from Delhi depends on travel type and hotel category.
May, June, September, and early October are the best months to visit Badrinath. During these periods, the temple remains open and weather conditions are suitable for road travel. July and August are generally avoided due to monsoon-related landslides, while winter months remain inaccessible as the temple closes due to heavy snowfall.
From Delhi, a minimum of 5 days is required for a comfortable road journey to Badrinath and back. This includes travel days, overnight halts at Haridwar and Joshimath, and sufficient time for temple darshan. Shorter itineraries are not recommended due to long driving hours and mountain terrain.
Yes, traveling Delhi to Badrinath by car is the most practical option. It offers flexibility, comfort, and the ability to stop at important places like Haridwar, Devprayag, and Joshimath. Compared to public transport, a private car journey makes long mountain travel easier, especially for families and senior citizens.
VIP darshan charges at Badrinath Temple are fixed by the temple committee and usually range between ₹1,100 to ₹5,100 per person, depending on season and crowd levels. These tickets allow priority entry but do not extend darshan time. Charges are payable directly at the temple or through authorized operators.
