Day 01: Kathgodam to Pithoragarh

Begin your Kathgodam to Adi Kailash Yatra with a scenic mountain drive towards Pithoragarh. The route passes through forested hills, river valleys, and traditional Kumaon towns. En route, you may visit important spiritual sites such as Kainchi Dham, Chittai Golu Temple, and Jageshwar Dham (time permitting). Reach Pithoragarh by evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02: Pithoragarh to Dharchula

After breakfast, drive to Dharchula, a small border town situated along the Kali River. This day is important for completing Inner Line Permit formalities, required to enter the restricted border region. Post lunch, spend some relaxed time exploring the local area. Overnight stay in Dharchula.

Day 03: Dharchula to Gunji

Today’s journey takes you deeper into the Himalayas. Drive from Dharchula to Gunji village, the main base for both Adi Kailash and Om Parvat. The route passes through scenic villages like Chialekh, Garbyang, and Napalchu, offering stunning mountain views. Dinner and overnight stay at a guesthouse or homestay in Gunji.

Day 04: Gunji to Adi Kailash (Jolingkong) and Back

After an early breakfast, drive towards Jolingkong, the base point of Adi Kailash. From here, walk to Parvati Sarovar, a high-altitude sacred lake, a major attraction near Adi Kailash. Spend time in darshan and meditation before returning to Gunji by evening.

This day includes the main Adi Kailash Trek, which involves short, manageable walking and does not require technical trekking skills.

Day 05: Gunji to Om Parvat (Om View Point) and Return

After breakfast, drive towards Nabhidhang, the famous Om View Point, from where pilgrims witness the naturally formed ॐ symbol on Om Parvat. En route, visit spiritually significant places like Kalapani (Kali Mandir) and Ved Vyas Gufa.

The Adi Kailash to Om Parvat distance is 40 km, making it easy to cover both sacred sites without physical strain. 

Return to Gunji for overnight stay.

Day 06: Gunji to Dharchula

Day 07: Dharchula to Pithoragarh

After breakfast, continue the descent journey back to Pithoragarh. This day allows the body to acclimatise naturally while enjoying views of the lower Himalayas. You’ll reach Pithoragarh late evening. Check into the hotel followed by dinner and overnight stay.

Day 08: Pithoragarh to Kathgodam (Departure)
