Hyderabad to Kedarnath Tour Plan (Itinerary)

Below is a 5 day itinerary for the Kedarnath tour from Hyderabad, with a starting pickup from Haridwar, Delhi or Dehradun.

Day 1: Hyderabad – Delhi – Drive to Rishikesh

Your Kedarnath trip starts as you depart Hyderabad. Take a morning flight from Hyderabad to Dehradun. Once you arrive, our driver will greet you and you’ll set off on a drive to Rishikesh. By late afternoon, reach Rishikesh – the gateway to the Garhwal Himalayas. Check in at your Rishikesh hotel. In the evening, witness Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat or Parmarth Niketan, where oil lamps, chanting, and the flowing Ganges create a truly magical atmosphere. Overnight stay in Rishikesh.

Day 2: Adventure & Sightseeing in Rishikesh 

Today, enjoy a full day in Rishikesh. You can start your morning with a peaceful yoga session by the river or visit Janki Setu, the iconic iron suspension bridge. After breakfast, set for white-water rafting on the Ganga. Later, explore Rishikesh’s spiritual and cultural spots. Walk through the Beatles Ashram, visit local temples, or sip chai at a café with a river view. Explore local markets of Rishikesh in the evening and collect souvenirs for your friends and family. Visit back to your hotel, have dinner and sleep well as tomorrow we’ll be on a long drive to Guptkashi.

Day 3: Drive From Rishikesh to Guptkashi (7-8 hours)

Post an early breakfast, check out and embark on the drive to Guptkashi. It’s a long but beautiful journey of about 7–8 hours up the mountains. Along the way, you’ll witness the beautiful landscapes of Uttarakhand: stop at Devprayag to see the sacred confluences of rivers into the Ganga, and pass through towns like Srinagar and Rudraprayag (where the Mandakini meets the Alaknanda river). Winding roads lined with pine forests and deep valleys lead you further into the highlands. By late afternoon, arrive in Guptkashi, a town steeped in Shiva lore. Depending on timing, you may visit the Ardhnarishwar Temple in the evening. Settle into your Guptkashi hotel, have dinner, and rest. (Overnight in Guptkashi)

Day 4: Short drive to Gaurikund, Jeep Ride to Sonprayag & Trek to Kedarnath

Rise early (around 4 AM) to begin your pilgrimage to Kedarnath. After a quick breakfast, drive to Sonprayag, and then take a short shared jeep ride to Gaurikund (the trek base point). From Gaurikund, start the 16 km trek to Kedarnath. As you climb, enjoy stunning views of rugged cliffs, and the Mandakini River flowing below. 

For those who prefer not to trek on foot, pony rentals and palki (doli) services are available at Gaurikund (on-the-spot hire). Additionally, pre-booked helicopter rides can ferry you from helipads like Phata or Guptkashi to Kedarnath in a short 10-minute flight (advance booking needed; round-trip fare ~₹7,500–₹9,000 per person). These alternatives can greatly reduce travel time and physical strain.

Upon arrival in Kedarnath, proceed towards your guesthouse/homestay and take some rest. By late evening, head to the Kedarnath Temple for darshan. If you arrive by daylight, you might attend the uplifting evening Aarti ceremony, where the devotion of hundreds of pilgrims and the backdrop of towering Himalayan peaks create a truly awe-inspiring experience. Later have dinner, followed by an overnight stay at Kedarnath.

Day 5: Kedarnath – Trek Down & Return to Haridwar

On the final day, wake up in Kedarnath for an early morning darshan at the temple if you didn’t visit on day 4 of your kedarnath trip from Hyderabad. Feel the divine atmosphere at dawn as prayer bells echo in the valley. After a quick cup of tea, begin your descent back to Gaurikund around 6 AM. The downhill trek is faster, roughly takes 5–6 hours, with gravity easing your journey. Back at Gaurikund, meet your driver at Sonprayag and start the long drive back to Haridwar.

By evening, arrive at Haridwar where your kedarnath yatra concludes. We will drop you at the Haridwar railway station or Dehradun airport for your trip back to Hyderabad.
